STRAIGHT ON RALLYSPORT
Rallying is living,
the rest of the time is waiting.

  STRAIGHT ON RALLYSPORT & RACQI
"RIDE OF A LIFE TIME"
Fifty very special people with an intellectual disability recently had a ride of their life at the Willowbank Autocross track.  13 of Queenslands finest rally cars and crews tossed their regular navigators aside and strapped these very excited guys from the Endeavour Foundation in and took them for one hell of a ride.
The entire day was a-buzz with excitement.  The pictures best tell the story.
Full compliment of photo's from the day can be viewed on the Red Hot Shotz web site.

QUICK REPORT ON RALLY Q

(Pic by Sue Richo.  More shots in photo page)

Quote from rally winner Neal Bates on rally.com;  “It was an unbelievably tough rally for cars, drivers and co-drivers. Anyone who got through to the end would feel like they’ve really done a rally.”

Our weekend at coates Rally Queensland was a mixed bag of thrills, experience, trials and tribulations.  Although our outright and class results were not up to our usual standard, the best thing we can boast is we finished with a straight and healthy car.  Which is something many are not able to gloat about.  Carnage, big crashes and break downs were rampart, but the GT4 came home strong and healthy.  It was not with out a couple of dramas though, as we had some water hose troubles and lost 30 minutes in one stage.
The lead up and preparation to this event was overwhelming to say the least and getting to the start line was an achievement in itself, let alone run a successful weekend.  However we had a tremendous crew that were loads of fun, dedicated to our cars well being and seen to it that the GT4 made it all the way home.  Chris and Jamie had a bit to do with that as well!
Final results are not yet known, but probably about 15th in QRC and 4th in class.
All up it was an amazing experience and an event we needed to get under our belt.  Next year we wont feel so intimidated by all the glitz, glamour and mountains of paper work.  We can just go "Straight on" rallying and do what we do best.
A huge and special thanks to all our crew.  Everyone had a job and done it exceptionally well. "Thank you".
Once again our car and team stood out in the crowd and proved to be very popular amongst the public.
Apart from doing our best on the track, our commitment to the image of our sponsors and the sport of rallying is equally important.  We go out of our way to ensure we obtain maximum exposure for our supporters and project a fun and professional image to help enhance the sport of rallying.  We like to show that on a very small and tight budget, you can shine amongst the best, and still have loads of fun.

KALPOWER!

Our most recent event was the CQP Kalpowar Invitational Rally run by the CapCoast Rallysport club.  Our goal for the year was to get on the podium, and that's exactly what we did.  Third Outright.  The rally had very technically challenging roads and tracks with many hazards ready to catch the unwary.  Our plan right from the get-go was to keep the car on the road and be there at the end of the night.  Our plan worked with many cars succumbing to the conditions and ending up battered and bruised beside the road.
Special thanks to Al.  Once again, he did a mightly job of keeping our car in tip top shape for the whole event.

DAVID HACK CHARITY CAR SHOW

Our GT4 went on display at the 10th annual David Hack Charity Car Show in Toowoomba on Sunday 4th May.  Over 600 cars, bikes and planes where on display with thousands of people pouring in to view the spectacle.  Our GT4 attracted a lot of interest and plenty of people stopped and  admired with many of them taking photographs as well.
A great day out and great exposure for the Car, team and sponsors, all while helping worthy charities.

CRAIG LOWNDES TRIES ON SOR CAP FOR SIZE.

Craig Lowndes recently dropped in to Toowoomba for a signing and promotion for Tyre Power.  Jamie was 'Straight On' to it and didn't miss the opportunity to get an SOR cap on Lowndesy's popular scalp.
Unfortunately negotiations fell through to get Craig to drive for SOR next season.
